Menu Planning Mondays

Today I am linking up for Menu Plan Monday.
http://orgjunkie.com/2012/01/menu-plan-monday-jan-912.html

This week when sitting down to write out our menu plan I really wanted to use what I had on hand in the pantry and freezer.

Monday-Steak,garlic mashed potatoes and spinach(added bonus to this meal is that the hubby is cooking)

Tuesday-3 packet chicken in the crockpot, rice and salad

Wednesday- Hamburger stroganoff(yes the box kind, the hubby and child likes it so I can't complain) green beans and salad

Thursday-Teriyaki chicken, rice and broccoli

Friday-Dinner at G's , I'll bring dessert ....COOKIES..more on that in a bit;)

Saturday-LEFTOVERS= cleaning out the fridge for next week and a day off for this Mama!!

Sunday-** New Recipe of the week** 3 Cheese alfredo bake and garlic bread

I spent a total of $30.15 and saved 16% , the big deal of the week at MB was getting  1 box of wheat thins, a box of teddy grahams, and triscuits for $1.50. How did it work ....I'll tell ya, MB had wheat thins and triscuits on sale for 2 for $3...I used a a $3 off 3 coupon.I could have bought three boxes of wheat thins and triscuit for $0.50 but for an extra buck I was able to buy a box of Teddy Grahams for snacks as a back up. If our "friend" get us more inserts this week I will definatly be working this deal again!!

G let you in on the Shaws deal so I will spare you on that one but I did get Coffeemate creamer for $0.49. It was on sale for $1.99 and I used a $0.75 coupon that doubled to $1.50.**Edited to add my total savings today at Shaws was 47%**

Alot of people ask us "Why coupon??" , "Do you buy things you don't use??" ALL the TIME we get this when they see us in the store with our lovely pink and red  binders and the answer is NO!! I have ALOT of coupons that I do not use BUT it is the coupons on things that make a regular appearance on my grocery list  SO WORTH IT!! Some might read my 16% savings and think that its not all that great but last week I saved 61% so YES it is worth it. I know that my family will eat pasta so if I can get it for free why not?!?!

The sour cream chicken enchiladas were a hit last week....Bella called them "yummy" so they will make an appearance again :) This week the new recipe I am making is a 3 cheese alfredo bake.I hope that it is a success as well....As a added bonus I will be using FREE pasta and FREE alfredo sauce and FREE sour cream! ! FREE PEOPLE FREE!!!!
